Entrepreneurship isn’t exclusively a man’s game nowadays (if it ever was). The Center for Women’s Business Research has found that 28 percent of U.S. businesses—around 8 million—are owned by women, and they account for 16 percent of all jobs in the U.S.
But the center notes that women-owned firms generate only 4.2 percent of the total business revenue in the country, and only 20 percent of those businesses have employees other than the owner.
